Learning path: Workplace Skills Builder

Duration: 1 Day(s).

Course Overview

Construction engineers and logistics experts aren't the only professionals needing project management skills. Many employees assume extra assignments beyond their job roles. Those assignments are often critical to the organization. They must be accomplished flawlessly, on budget, and on time. The critical first step for any project is clearly defining what the project is, why you’re doing it, the vision, goals, and objectives in your plan, and a clear statement of work. That’s what this course is all about. If you’re getting ready to manage your first project or have a project idea you want to sell, this course is for you.

We’ll examine the role of a project manager and the primary skills project team members need. We’ll also cover primary terms, outline a project life cycle and learn how to sell your project idea. Then, we’ll walk through how to set your project vision, goals, and objectives and learn how to lay out your project plan. You’ll have a clear statement of work and a planning worksheet to guide your way as you get ready to launch your project.
